Job Description
Position Reports to: Assisted Learning Coordinator
Position Classification:
full time, at-will, salary
Position Requirements:
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Special Education
State/ACSI teacher certification preferred, but must be able to obtain ACSI certification within the established timeframe
An understanding of the IEP process and the ability to assist in the evaluation of children possessing a variety of disabilities.
Background in the use of supplementary materials to support students needs
Knowledge of current best practices in the education of children with disabilities preferred.
Demonstrates effective communication skills with parents, children, and staff
Attendance of in-service as required
Attendance and participation of weekly staff meetings

Position Overview:
The assisted learning teacher will work closely with students in elementary school who have been determined to need additional support in order to meet grade level expectations.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and implement learning plans and accommodation plans for elementary students who have been identified as needing them.
Work with regular education teachers to provide accommodations and modifications in the classroom.
Meet with parents and teachers to discuss student progress.
Collaborate with other assisted learning staff to maintain a consistent assisted learning program.
Other position appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the Assisted Learning Coordinator, Principal, or Head of School.
